After months of discussions, planning, back and forths, ups and downs and a billion sleepless nights, the new location for Italian by Night is taking shape. I thought you’d get a kick out of seeing what’s going on, so I grabbed a few shots to share with you.
Our landlord, Keith Brideau of Historica has an unbelievable track record for renovation excellence. He’s reinstating all of the windows that have been boarded up for years which will flood our restaurant with gorgeous natural light.
The ceiling beams, columns and brick walls have been exposed and sand blasted leaving us with beautiful natural textures and tones to work with.
Pictured below is Liz’s husband, John Mallory working on one of the several signature tables that he has designed for us.
John’s attention to detail is off the charts. I can’t wait to see the final product!
The window box is in the alley under our kitchen.
Gord and our invaluable friend, Mike laying the sub-floor in our kitchen; the glamour of owning your business.
It’s been an intense summer leading up to all of this. So many decisions, so many possibilities and three very different people working hard to make the best choices we can for our new space. We’ve developed a working style that can only be described as
whatever it takes…
I’ll be back soon with another update.
Thanks for reading.
